people with developmental disabilities WATCH WorksDevelops employment skills and quality work habits to remove barriers to placement in community work options. Develops self confidence and self esteem through the achievement of individual vocational and personal skills. WATCH Works is a community work program. We work as small supervised crews doing a variety of jobs in the community. The types of jobs we have done are varied. We do landscaping maintenance, custodial work, office/business support, preparation of bulk mail, ceramic fish production, shopping center cleanup and cart return, window washing, cable and circuit board assembly, packaging and pre-assembly of manufactured parts. Everyone is paid a wage and we find ourselves keeping extremely busy. Participants in our program also work with computers and run their
own snack bar for the greater agency. We advocate for people and
support their individual goals in whatever way we can. Our goal is to
become integrated into the greater community -- and this is being done.
